Scholarship Application

The Sei Boku Bonsai Kai Development Scholarship Program was established to support the continued education and growth of club members. This program is designed to encourage skill development, increase member engagement, and strengthen the overall quality and knowledge base within the club.

The scholarship program aims to support members in advancing their bonsai skills, provide access to workshops, professional instruction, and quality materials, encourage active participation and long-term member development, and foster a culture of learning, sharing, and mentorship within the club.

There will be one $600.00 scholarship available per year. Eligible uses include Bonsai workshops or classes, instruction with a professional artist, and related travel expenses (if applicable). Eligibility requirements includes being an active member in good standing with the club, have at least 2 years of club membership, and submit a complete application by the stated deadline.

Applications must be submitted by October 31 for the year and will be evaluated based on clarity and thoughtfulness of the proposal, defined learning goals and potential for growth, demonstrated interest and commitment to bonsai, and potential benefit to the club and its members.

The scholarship recipient will be expected to complete the proposed project or learning activity, provide a short presentation, demonstration, or talk at a club meeting, and submit a brief written summary and photos of their experience and results.

Commitment and Timeline *

Outline your timeline from January 1 to December 31 to complete the activity or project. Include key milestones such as enrollment, instruction dates, practice time, project work, and final deliverables to the club.

• I confirm that I am an active member in good standing of Sei Boku Bonsai Kai and have been a member for at least two years. I agree to fulfill the recipient responsibilities, including completing the proposed activity or project, documenting my progress, and sharing the results with the club.
