3rd Saturday Virtual Open Workshop 2-4 PM
Zoom Workshop is available this month.
It’s 2021 and we’re still sheltering in place until we can all get vaccinated, but that doesn’t mean we can’t get together virtually! We are able to ask and give advice, and although some of us stayed on for the whole two hours, some folks just dropped in for a little while. It’s a great opportunity to work on your trees and catch up with your Sei Boku friends!
May 2021: Virtual Olive Presentation by Jerry Carpenter: On May 26, 2021 –
This month we are going to revisit olive species work. Olives, Oaks, and tropical species are a preferred material to develop. Jerry has learned a great deal about Olives while working extensively with them at the Bonsai Garden at Lake Merritt and his own collection. These generally slow grown, easily scared, contrary trees are great fun to work with once you understand the basic of leaf removal, secrets of ramification, and re-potting technics. Jerry has been working with bonsai trees of various species since the late 1980’s; beginning work on tropical trees while living in the Washington, DC area so many years ago.
