Bjorn & Yannick Style Off

Bjorn and Yannick styled off on some Japanese Black Pines. Thanks to Steve for picking the trees from Ed Clark at Round Valley nursery, material that was ground grown. Sei Boku Bonsai Kai welcomed Kusamura Bonsai Club, and it was a full house. One tree was raffled off and the other auctioned off.

Bonsai Challenge

The Sei Boku team with Gerardo Ortiz, Steve Iwaki, and Ernesto Flores are hard at work creating their informal upright tree. Midori Bonsai’s team with Elliott, Mehrdad Chavosh (hidden behind the tree), and Christian Sierra have decided to go with a windswept style. The Kusamura team with Carlos Sanchez, Ray Giron, and
Maryann Hinden create an ‘American Style’ informal upright with integrated jin work and secondary apexes

Juniper Styling

It was great to see so many of you circled around with your trees, learning from each other. Thanks to Steve for providing great material from Round Valley Nursery

Repotting Party

Special thanks to Gordon and Kamrin for hosting a repotting party for club members. Thanks to all of the mentors offering guidance or advice, and thanks to Ivan for sharing the photos below. We hope those who attended had a good time and setting their trees off to a healthy growing season.
